Spencer J. Cox was born and raised in the town of Fairview. He and his wife, Abby, are the parents of four children. Spencer, the oldest of eight children, and Abby, the fifth of ten siblings, come from large families. They were both raised on farms in Sanpete County, where they learned the value of dedication and hard work.
Spencer and Abby both graduated from North Sanpete High School, Snow College, and Utah State University. Abby received a degree in Special Education, while Spencer earned a BA degree in Political Science with a minor in Spanish. While at USU, Spencer was recognized by his department as the Student of the Year and graduated with a 4.0 grade point average. He then graduated from the Washington and Lee School of Law with honors, while distinguishing himself with several accolades including Law Review.
Upon graduation, Spencer and Abby moved to Davis County where Spencer had the opportunity to serve as a law clerk to Federal District Judge Ted Stewart. Following the clerkship, Spencer began his career as an attorney at the law firm of Fabian and Clendenin in Salt Lake City.
In 2003, Spencer and Abby decided to return and raise their family in rural Utah. Spencer accepted the position of Vice President with CentraCom, a rural telecommunications company. Shortly after arriving, Spencer helped to design and implement an aggressive expansion plan to grow the company's rural footprint and, for the first time, bring service to enterprise customers on the Wasatch Front. Since his arrival, CentraCom has doubled in size from 45 employees to more than 90, despite the severe economic downturn.
During their next ten years in Fairview, Spencer served as a Councilman and Mayor of Fairview City, as a Sanpete County Commissioner and in the Utah House of Representatives representing District 58, most of Sanpete and Juab Counties. As Lieutenant Governor, he serves as the State Election Officer, Legislative Liason, Chair or Co-chair of ten committees or commissions and a member of seven committees covering a wide array of issues including education, multicultural affairs, homelessness, constitutional defense, emergency management, bonding, rural and economic development.
In his spare time, Spencer loves running as well as camping and hiking with his family throughout Utah's amazing backcountry. He is fluent in Spanish. He also enjoys playing the bass guitar with his brother in a local band.
On February 15, 2014, Noelle Pikus Pace crossed the finish line of the Sochi Olympic Games putting a dramatic ending, and an emphatic exclamation point, on a 12 year journey of chasing the Olympic podium. The Olympic medal that she and her family, together, had chased around the world, for years, was finally theirs. Noelle leapt into the stands, into the arms of her husband, and into the hearts of America in one of the iconic, heartfelt moments of the XXII Olympic Winter Games.
A standout high school track athlete and native of the Salt Lake City area, site of the 2002 Olympic Games, Noelle’s track coach suggested she try bobsled. She did, but soon thereafter got on a skeleton sled and fell in love with the high speed, head-first, rocket-ride most certainly not for the faint of heart.
Pace blossomed as a slider and years later became the best in the world. With the 2006 Olympics coming into focus on the horizon, Pace was the gold medal favorite. The Olympic podium was in sight. With just months to go to the big show, Noelle was severely injured in a training accident. She was hit by a run-a-way bobsled, suffering a compound leg fracture. Despite a valiant effort to return to sliding in time for the Olympics she was unable to make it back. Her Olympic medal slipped away.
Pace stepped back from the sport and started a family with her husband, Janson. In 2008, they welcomed their daughter, Lacee. As the 2010 Olympics approached, Pace got the itch to try again and she embarked on long stints to Europe, leaving behind her husband and baby girl.
By 2010 Noelle had returned to world class form, and with Janson and Laceeby her side, she took one more shot at Olympic hardware. Heartbreakingly, she missed by one tenth of one second. Noelle finished 4th. She smiled, as she always does, and retired from the sport. In 2011, Noelle and Janson welcomed the birth of their son Traycen, and looked forward to continuing to grow their family. In the Spring of 2012, the couple suffered a miscarriage of their third child. Noelle was devastated.
Months later, it was Janson who suggested she take one more shot at her place in Olympic history. He felt it would be a good way to heal, and to move forward as a family. Noelle agreed, but only if he and the kids went with her every step of the way. They would travel the world as a family, with both kids, diapers and toys in tow, and take one last shot at the Olympic podium.
The cost and challenges of traveling the world wide skeleton competition circuit were enormous but they faced every challenge with a smile and as a family. While Mommy went off to the track or gym to train, Daddy tended to the kids every step of the way. Janson, an engineer by trade, built Noelle’s sled, and on that magic night in Sochi she rode that sled like a supermom on a mission. Finally, at long last, their dream had come true.
Noelle is an experienced motivational speaker, regularly sharing her inspiring presentation, ‘Where You Look Is Where You’ll Go” with corporate audiences across the country.

Robert Grow holds degrees in engineering and law from the University of Utah and the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University and has had a diverse career, including practicing law, leading and supporting regional visioning processes, being president of a large manufacturing company, and chairing a national trade association.
He was the primary architect of Envision Utah's grass roots, bottom up, stakeholder driven, values based approach. For his role in helping shape the strategy for the Salt Lake region's future transportation system, Robert received the American Public Transportation Association's (APTA) Distinguished Service Award in October 2003. Over the last couple decades, Grow has developed an expertise in facilitating regional stakeholders in creating multi-generational visions for major metropolitan areas of the United States and has worked with more than 80 metropolitan regions.
Robert led the visioning teams for San Diego; Laie, Hawaii; and the 175,000-acre Superstition Vistas property in Arizona and played a significant role in the Traverse City, Michigan and Southern Louisiana visioning processes. In addition, he led the Utah-based team of O'Melveny & Myers LLP dealing with the full spectrum of legal issues relating to environment, planning, entitlement, infrastructure, and development for Kennecott Land Company's 93,000-acre land holding on Salt Lake's West Bench plan, as well as the 4,000-acre Daybreak Community, Kennecott Land's first model sustainable community.
Lecia Langston is a Senior Economist for the Department of Workforce Services. Her responsibilities include economic analysis for ten counties in the central and southwestern areas of Utah, making occupational projections and studying women in the workforce.
During six years of her 30-plus years of service, she served as Chief Economist for the Department. Ms. Langston has served as a past president and officer of the Wasatch Front Economic Forum (the local chapter of the National Association of Business Economists) and as a past advisor on the Governor's Economic Coordinating Committee. Lecia is the winner of several awards for excellence in labor market information publications. She has degrees from Utah State University in Economics and Political Science.
Vardell Curtis is the Chief Executive Officer of the Washington County Board of REALTORS®, and is currently serving as the longest tenured Executive Officer of a Real Estate Association in the State of Utah. As such, Vardell received the President’s Award from the Utah Association of REALTORS® in 1997, a Certificate of Completion from Duke University in the Program for Nonprofit Management in 2002 and earned the REALTOR® Association Certified Executive designation in 2004.
Other accomplishments include serving as a Director for the St.George Area Chamber of Commerce from 1991-1997, serving as the Chairman of the Board in 1996. Vardell was recognized by the Chamber of Commerce with the Business Volunteer of the Year Award in 1997 and with the Executive of the Year Award in 2012.

Most recently, Vardell just completed many years of service with Dixie Regional Medical Center, having served as the Chairman of the Foundation for DRMC (2011-2012) and as a Trustee on the Governing Board (2003-2014). Presently, Vardell is serving as a member of the Dixie State University Storm Club Committee.
Mary Michelle Scott, President of Fishbowl and Co-founder of the Courage Above Mountains Foundation has helped several of Utah’s most prominent organizations and academic institutions transform from fledgling startups to national and global leadership status. On January 1, 2011, she joined Fishbowl, the leading provider of QuickBooks integration, inventory management, and asset tracking solutions.
She played a key role in Fishbowl’s successful company buyback during 2011, a year in which Fishbowl also experienced an overall growth rate of 70% and honored a commitment to build an employee-owned organization. Fishbowl demonstrated that it has staying power as a company by frequently making it onto the Inc. 500|5000 and Deloitte’s Fast 500 lists, and several others.

She is a contributing columnist with her business partner, Fishbowl CEO David K. Williams, for Harvard Business Review, Forbes, and several other national and international publications. She has served on the Utah Valley University Foundation Board of Executive Directors since 2006 and has assisted the university in receiving several grants that have provided professional training and certification in Utah, Hawaii, and the Navajo Nation.
Mary has served as a keynote speaker at every university in Utah and also for Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) events. She speaks on inspired leadership, team building, business development, and information/marketing technologies. Mary has served as an adjunct instructor at UVU since 2001.
In addition to serving as Fishbowl’s President, Mary is co-founder of the Courage Above Mountains (CAM) Foundation, Fishbowl’s corporate responsibility arm. Mary is also a Microsoft Certified Professional Instructor, and she holds the highest Human Resources Certification from SHRM and the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
Mary has extensive experience in grant funding and program development. She served as a project officer for a Community-Based Job Training and a National Science Foundation grant with NASA, the LINUX Professional Institute, and other strategic partners from 2008 to 2013.
Mary helped obtain critical grant funding to build education and employment programs with Certiport, the state of Utah, Navajo Nation, Microsoft, Adobe, UVU, Kelly Employment Services, Cisco/Tandberg, World Class Health Enterprises, and Certification Partners. She has a passion for building motivated teams and mentoring individuals to achieve their highest potential. She is the co-founder of UVU’s Skilled2Succeed program.
Among her other career highlights, Mary helped to launch the first information bank in the state of Utah as the Director of Business Development at Center7, and served as the MIS Director at Axent/Symantec for seven years and as a project manager for the U.S. Air Force at Sembach Air Base in Germany.
Mary attended Snow College and Southern Utah University where she served as editor of both campus newspapers. Brad Harker has been a serial entrepreneur from a very early age. Having started several companies in various industries, Brad's first legitimate foray into entrepreneurship involved the development and eventual sale of a direct marketing organization founded in 2002. Brad then followed his passions towards the Real Estate industry leading with the acquisition of a real estate franchise as well as the creation of his real estate brain-child, Landspin.com. The concept of Landspin was, originally, to improve the development and marketing processes associated with real estate focusing on buyer generation in volatile markets.

Mary Ronnow is the owner of The Skin Institute, LLC., a St. George based company that trains individuals for careers in the multi-billion dollar cosmetic, skin care, wellness, plastic surgery, spa and medi spa industry. Mary has 40 years of experience working in this industry, practicing for the last 22 years as a licensed medical esthetician, master esthetician, licensed instructor and school owner.
She was instrumental in helping to lay the groundwork for industry licensing reform in the state of Utah. With the successful passing of a new licensing bill in 2001, Mary saw the immediate need for a higher standard of spa industry education. The Skin Institute opened its doors to students in September of 2002 to provide solid, sophisticated training for spa personnel, esthetics and the medical esthetics industry. She has now added a state approved massage therapy training program to her curriculum.
As a business innovater, Mary has had years of extensive hands on experience. In fact, she has practiced in every venue of the spa and medi spa industry, including owning several medical spas. Jeff Poulton is 13-year software veteran, seasoned in tech startups and managing teams of software designers and developers. He is passionate about making life simpler through easy-to-use technology. If/when that passion dies, he'll most likely move his family to a small farming village in the Italian countryside that doesn't have internet access.
Jeff received a BS in Information Technology from the University of Utah and was recruited by Accenture, a Top-5 technology firm, to work on enterprise-grade software applications in California. After quickly rising to the ranks of manager, he succumbed to the siren song of entrepreneurship and has been on a long streak of tech-related startups ever since.
Jeff has been heavily involved in the St. George tech community. He is the chairman of the Southern Utah Code Camp committee and a committee member of the Dixie Techs. He started the St. George Ruby Programmers Meetup, the St. George Mobile Developer Group and the St. George Design Alliance Group, all monthly meetups geared to fostering strong professional networking and learning opportunities. He and a colleague initiated received grant funding for a new suite of programs called STEM Series (Launchpad, Startup School and Startup Derby) that more closely align local technology-focused companies such as Rocketmade, BusyBusy, and Velocity Web Works with local high school and Dixie State University students interested in web programming, design, game development, and mobile apps. Jeff also co-instructs a Lean Startup course through a collaboration with Dixie State and SEED Dixie.

Aly Brooks is a social media consultant and coach. She helps business owners connect with their customers and improve their bottom lines. Developing creative and effective social media campaigns is her passion. She is the brains behind several award-winning social media campaigns. While attending college in 1971 Mr. Carter returned to St. George to begin working in the title business full time. Allan has remained with Southern Utah Title Company throughout his working career. He has held a position in every department of the company and for the past number of years specialized in tracking all aspects of the real estate market in Southern Utah. Carter directs the Developer Services Division of SUTC.
Derek B. Miller is the President and CEO of the World Trade Center Utah, an organization dedicated to helping Utah companies “think, act, and succeed globally.” WTC Utah is a member of the World Trade Centers Association headquartered in New York City, a network of more than 300 WTC’s in 100 countries around the world, with the mission to facilitate prosperity through trade and investment.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Miller served as chief of staff to Governor Gary R. Herbert, overseeing the Governor’s Office, the Governor’s Cabinet and state operations. Mr. Miller has also served as managing director of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development where he was responsible for recruiting new businesses to the state and helping existing Utah businesses to expand.
Before moving back to his home state of Utah, Mr. Miller worked in Washington D.C. for the U.S. House of Representatives as legal counsel and for Arthur Andersen as a management consultant. Mr. Miller is a graduate of the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, and he also holds a Master of Public Administration from the University’s Romney Institute of Public Management.
Chad Booth is the creator and host of The County Seat TV. He has worked in broadcasting since 1974. Of the thirty years working in broadcasting he has been producing independent programming for 22 of those years. He is married to Ria Rossi Booth who works with him in the production of their three shows.
Steven D. Harrop is a Certified Financial Analyst and recently retired as a Lecturer in Finance at Southern Utah University after over 15 years of service. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University and holds a Master of Management Degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago. Steven is one of the few portfolio managers known to be recognized by Lipper Analytical Services for performance achievement in the management of stocks, bonds and money market funds. He is currently serving on the Board of Advisors and Investment Committee for Soltis Investment Advisors.

Brock Alexander is the General Manager of 5N Plus Semiconductors, LLC, (formerly Sylarus Technologies) where he has led the integration into the corporate organization. With executive strength in manufacturing and technology, Brock has been a director of advanced technology at Greene Tween and Co., and vice president of Technology and operations as well as a co-founder of the Prism Research Group. He holds a PhD from the University of Florida.
Jason is CEO of the Award Winning ContactPoint, a call marketing automation tech star in St. George and Draper, Utah. Prior to joining ContactPoint, Jason served as the Senior Vice President at Sony Pictures Television International where he led the creation and international expansion of the mobile business line from London. Prior to Sony, he was Vice President of Sales and Business Development for Handango, Inc. where he led relationships with clients such as Microsoft, Motorola, Sprint, and Verizon.
Previous to Handango, Wells held management positions at Sprint and Marriott International. As a strategic management consultant for A.T. Kearney, he provided executive level strategy, sales and marketing to Sprint, Bristol Myers Squibb, Telstra (Telecommunications provider in Australia), American Electric Power, C3 Communications, Lyonnaise Cable, and Dynergy. Wells has worked and lived in London, Paris, Sydney, Mexico City, and throughout the United States.
Wells has an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He also has a Master's in economic quantitative methods from the University of Utah and a Bachelor's degree in economics from Brigham Young University.
